FS: RX-8 Passenger seat

Postby chickenwafer » Thu Dec 29, 2011 9:14

Odd, I know, but I have a *spare* 2005 RX-8 base model (cloth, manual adjust) front passenger seat up for sale. It includes the base with slider rack, all plastics, and the side impact airbag is in-tact and has never been deployed/replaced/tampered.

This seat is literally *mint*, no stains, vomit, rips, tears, funky butt smells, anything.

I originally got this for reasons two-fold; first, the passenger seat on my old RX-8 has a very minor rip in the base, so I found this for a good deal and sprung on it. Then I was able to get the rip repaired so you couldn't even see it was ripped, so this seat sat in my spare bedroom for a while. I was then going to re-purpose it for use as an office chair with a swivel base, but alas, I would rather just have the cash now. Just to clarify to avoid confusion, this seat WAS NOT the ripped seat, that was a different seat that was repaired and REMAINED in my old RX-8.

I can post pictures if requested.

Asking $150 picked up, I can meet in Denver if needed. You WILL NOT find an RX-8 seat for cheaper than this. Great way to start on RX-8 seat swap in your SA/FB, FC, FD (they fit), start an office chair project, replace a worn RX-8, seat.

Thanks!

I may be interested. Let me settle with Simon on the things I'm buying from him and see what I have left.

Wow, a seat with no vomit? Such a rarity these days.

It would be interesting to see if the RX8 seat would fit a Mazda3, but alas, I would need the driver and passenger seats.

Sure is a great deal for a seat of any kind.

Still considering seat options. Can you post a picture or email me one?

Hmmm. I know the rails won't work. youd have to find a way to swap them. I have a seat we can use to see if it will work. That way you don't have to drive all the way up to Loveland just to see.

The seat will physically fit, since people have swapped MS3 seats into RX-8s. You will need custom rails, tho

I was optimistic that the rails for the three would work since they are both mazda seats and the ms3 bottom is pretty similar.
Don't want to mess with custom rails really.
