It actually wasn't too hard. I didn't realize that you can remove the bracket from the headlight assembly. Once I did that, it was easy to figure out what needed to be cut.

I just laid down the first coat down. A couple more then I'll hit the clear.

Sure does! Let me know when.

So finished the engine bay. Now I can start putting things back on. With any luck, the engine will be in by the end of the week.

Not showroom quality, but better than my first one.

Lol. Sure does. Not sure if you want me doing it though. I'm definitely not a painter!

So I finished the engine bay last night. Not by any means a showroom paint job but it's the engine bay so it'll do. With any luck, I'll be installing the engine before I leave on Friday. If not, I'll be to the point where that's next.

Some pics of the finished bay.

^He's right Frank. If you're not careful, people might think V8s are as unreliable as rotaries LOL. I mention this because every time I have my car down for maintenance someone makes a remark about it breaking all the time, even though most of those times it's drivable lol.

That engine bay looks really good! It HAS to be better than mine LOL. Now you just have to make sure you're careful putting the engine back in lol.

This is the first time I've pulled this engine since swapping in the LS2. I like to make things pretty! lol.

It'll take more than my little ol' V8 to live up to that notoriety! Yea, I'm planning to be extra careful and cautious this go around. I'll probably be looking for an extra hand when I do it. :)

I actually just came across a PC'er here in Denver. He's doing some work for me right now (work related).

I can put you two in contact, if you like.
one and one makes two, together we are free

We should have just put my old wheels on and see what it looks like in real life lol. Although they were glossy black. I think satin black would look good, but the regular silver looks so good too. After I had mine done I was wishing I'd left them alone.

That pic must be from when you first moved in. LOL

I need to take some leave so I can catch up to you haha.

Yea I should have tried them out. I'm still on the fence right now though. That pic was from last summer.

Just make sure you're ready for the trip! I'm taking an extra two days off after I get back with the intent of getting everything done to get her running and driveable. That gives me the goal of 28 March to be done and a couple of weeks of driving before the trip. Any work I do in April will have no impact to the trip. All cosmetic type stuff.
