From what iv read after the guy on the 3 forums pm'd me is that the problem is more than likely with the purge valve. So i call Sil-Terhar this morning because im in Boulder so its the closet dealer, and to my dismay the service guy says there is nothing he can do about it until it throws a CEL
...... wtf! So let me get this straight, my car more than likely has a genuine problem but they wont look at it until it gets worse and throws a CEL! Ummm k thanks i guess. Josh when im down in HR on Friday, if i were to bring it to Burt (like i should have thought from the beginning) would they look at it? Or is it the same story with no CEL SOL?

andrew, the biggest problem is that if they can't duplucate it, they can't fix it. basically unless they see it happen mazda won't pay them for warrenty work thats why no one will touch it. A CEL codes into the software so they can pull that. that way they get paid.. get what im sayin? No one works for free.. lol

Give Burt a call. They are pretty busy, so dropping in might not be the best course of action.

Today was the first time I started my car in the past 9 days and it did stall just once... Reved the RPMs to about 2000K for a couple of seconds and it was fine. I forgot how fast our Speeds are since it was a while since I've driven it.

Of course, but its not an uncommon problem from what iv read, even read there is a TSB out on the purge valve. Just strange that mazda feels its cool to just let a brand new car stall out upon start up and then tell me ill have to wait until it gets worse, or if it doesn't get worse, live with it...
and when i say "mazda" i dont mean as a company per say. I dont really care all that much that it does this, its not harming anything, but its just kind of screwy.

Andrew, my car has done the same thing a few times in the mornings when its cold as hell..the temp gauge reads 10-15, it stalls once, I restart it, let the clutch out slower, and its fine. After driving for a few minutes those couple times it happened, the temp gauge did give me actual readings of -2 degrees. Its gotta be because the clutch is cold, almost frozen to itself, when you let the clutch out too fast, it drags the rpms down and kills itself.. I guarantee it doesnt happen if you leave your foot on the clutch for about the first minute, giving little revs here and there.. Its the same with the ebrake freezing...that happens to me too...
My advice, get a heated garage...

Yeah that seems like another good explanation of why since it only happens when i release the clutch. And i would kill for a heated garage!

This is true, but only when im home. Im in Boulder right now, so its not a garage per say, more of a covered parking garage.
^^ Andrew, you already kicked your mom's car out of the garage.. geez, you just want everything! haha JK[/b]
