Today, Eduardo (VRx8) came by and got rid of my coolant level sensor beeping (Thank YOU! so annoyed with that noise, also that both of my ignition plugs were both oposite (it was blue on white & white was on blue). He drove my car said it feels nice, but it looks like it needs some fuel/timing tuning. Im also gonna see if I can do the 99 spec tail lights conversion. Also gonna sell my gauges & pods and see if I can buy the ones VRx8 was talking about and get a triple gauge pod. The car starts kinda right away (not really) maybe need some tuning on that part also. The car is gonna be sent to Mr. Body Shop hopefully around next week.
Bought some vaccum caps to cover all the vaccum holes. I might do the V mount conversion with my Greddy FMI just havent decided yet.
This rims I have on are not mine its my brothers but he said I can have them till next summer, but I was surfing through the internet and found these rims called Tenzo-R. What I really like are these rims http://www.tenzoracingsports.com/wheel07.htm but I really like the size of the tires 285's in the rear & 235's in the front. i think the size of my rims are 17's. Wonder where I can buy some tires like these.
The young FD dude
Earlier today, well actually yesterday, I brought the 7 to Mr. Body Shop to get the car sanded down, but when I was over there new customers came in and dropped their cars off, then later that day one of the workers said there was no room so i didnt complain and took it back home. So early this morning brought it back and I see 2 more cars come and get dropped off... WTH is going on?!? He said he got all these cars waiting before you did.... (he couldnt tell us that before we paid?!?) So he said theres gonna be 2 cars thats gonna be out of there and was gonna be a spot for me in a week so I said ok. So by next monday if he doesnt keep his word, im just tell my dad to get his money and im just leave the paint the way it is and put all the interior back again and get this baby rolling.
After all that, we went to Silicone Intakes and bought this wideband http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_info.php?cPath=13&products_id=985&osCsid=05397486fe9a94bcbc827c3c694cf0de and a water temp. gauge. Will this wideband be fine? Also next to the warehouse was a performance shop called UnderPressure. We talked to them and said they worked on rotaries before they moved to this location ( still not interested in them to touch the 7) but what interested me was a GT35r ball bearing and I think the flange size is T4 on hotside. Its brand new and polished and said he wants $900 for it? What you guys think yes or no on getting this. My manifold is getting re-welded again too.
no?

Not sure about the wideband, I don't know much about ProSport. I'd stay away from UnderPressure. They have a pretty bad reputation. I talked to several people recently that like them, but I've heard a few stories about them blowing engines because they tune the car so lean to make more power. I know you're not talking about getting work done there, but that would make me worry about the condition of the turbo as well. I'm assuming it's used from the price. As long as it's still in good condition it's a good price. I'd make absolutely sure it's a genuine Garrett too though lol. I just don't trust UPP lol.

Holy shit LSU 4.9 goodness. Those are awesome sensors, the new reverse flow twin turbo V8's BMW has use those. They are online in <10s and are fast enough to recognize individual cylinder events in a combined manifold.
The cost has me a tad puzzled though, $205 for everything? my guess is that one 4.9 lambda cost more than that. I'd be interested for you to post a snapshot of the sensor when you receive it

I actually picked it up from the warehouse ill take a picture of it in the morning.SecondGenPAt wrote:Holy shit LSU 4.9 goodness. OH no im not letting them touch my car i just wanted to see if that turbo was a good deal or not. The hotside doesnt look used but who knows. Also this wideband looks pretty hard to install, i think my dad called you about where to mount the welding piece more lower than the stock O2 sensor is at.speedjunkie wrote:Not sure about the wideband, I don't know much about ProSport. Today we installed the Water temperature gauge in and took almost the whole day (had trouble with wires.) So im kinda worried we will get stuck on the wideband part... My cluster lights (where RPMs,MPH,fuel is at)is not lighting up when i turn the lights on.(anyone know why it wont light up?)

Yeah he called me last night. So the hot side of the turbo isn't rusty or dirty or anything?
Did you guys have the dash apart where the cluster is? There are four connectors for the cluster and another two (one on each side) on the outer part for headlights and cruise control. Did you maybe not connect everything? Or maybe the wiring is messed up and it's keeping the wideband on all the time LOL! I told your Dad something wasn't right with that but he swears he followed the directions. I'm not saying he did, but that IS NOT right lol.

This instruction told my dad how to set it up its weird, we do have it working though.

The turbo had nothing on it, still have the grey color look. My dash wasnt apart from the cluster but where my pedals are at, above it theres a bunch of wires are there all under there. You think the wires are under there? Yea my dad thinks he connected it right but regular gauges suppose to turn off when the car is off. Hey I was wondering when can you,Zico,or Eduardo can come over and see if this wideband is reading right looks to be laggy to.me but i dont know if its like that and just needs to get it tuned. At idle its around 11.9 to 10.5-2 ish.

I wouldn't worry about it being slow, I think it was responding reasonably fast. It's enough to get at least a good baseline tune. If you're really worried about it, once the car is all broken in, spend the money and take it to a dyno and get a good tune. They will most likely have their own wideband to put in the tailpipe anyway.

Oh ok.. once I get a J.O.B. hopefully save till next Spring/Summer and bring Steve out here.
Yesterday, finally Mr.Body Shop took in my car. He said there's hail damage every where so its gonna take some time but will be done before school starts. While its there I talked to a manager next to my brother's work, she said she'll talk to her boss about hiring me, I start $9.00-$9.50 an hr (not bad for 1st job if I do get it.) For now though im playing the waiting game.

Today, finally Mr.Body Shop got to work on my car, got it sanded/bondo the dents I had from the hail storm from June (had alot of them by the way). Now here comes to hard part, trying to pick out colors. I was playing my Forza game and I looking at the color chart, and found this green. Looks cool, nobody seen a green RX7 before right? well I did hear about a green 7 roll around couple years ago, but never seen it. So what you guys think about this color? :
Remember the orange RX7 that caught on fire during a photoshoot? I was thinking about that color also any opinions on that color?
Im also not gonna keep the stock front bumper, its too wavy (you gotta see it in person to make sense lol) I guess im gonna be going with that front bumper that Eric (speedjunkie) gave us couple weekends ago.
