My brother has the cx-7 with navigation, the radio has the satellite button on it, but the dealer told him that cx-7's with navigation dont offer the satellite as an option. They said he cant hook it up..who's right?

I think there's some sort of 'media switcher' accessory in order to use satellite with nav and other add ons like aux or ipod... try another dealer. maybe the service writer/techs are just being lazy.

I beleive that Mazda is right. There are only 2 connections availale in the back of the stereo unit and both are brobably taken. Since I only have a 6-CD changer I can still add satelite, Mini disc, Ipod connectivity, or Cassette tape but I can only choose one option.

I'm pretty sure that's what's going on there. The only way to really figure it out is to take the unit apart and see for yourself.

Sombody please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm thinking that the best way to figure it out is to just take the dash out yourself and look at the stereo unit
(Head Unit) and see if there are any empty connector ports back there.

FWIW- I have both NAV and SAT running in my 5- which is basically the same setup as the 3. It should be compatible... I would check with Burt, they seem to be the most helpful with our cars...

the 5 and the 3 have a totally different setup than the cx7 though, but thanks for the answers, called Mazda corporate, they said there IS support for satellite with navigation on the cx-7's.... The dude at Sil-Terhar was a dick, the manager ended up calling my brother to apologize over the whole thing, offered him free install on the overpriced sirius box, (dealer quoted him $550!!
