Strangest place to find a rotary engine part?

Postby Shadowden » Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:14

I have no photographic evidence due to the state of charge of my telephone, but there was a 13A rotor housing holding the computer room door open at the Tech building on Auraria campus today. Tech 104. Right at the light rail station.

That is all.

Looked to be in good shape, but I have no experience.

I will see if they will barter with me. I will take them a block of wood cut into a wedge shape and see if they will exchange it.

Perhaps they should pay me some cash on top of the rotor housing? I mean, I am preventing potential liability issues using the right tool for the job. It seriously struck me as odd. What ran through their heads: "we need to hold this door open, any one have any ideas?". "Why don't we use an engine part?". "Terrific idea!".

I wonder if they even know what it is lol. If they do, at least one person there has to be into rotaries. Get their contact information for me lol.

The owners name is Ward and he knows what it is. Doesnt seem to wanna let go of it. Even offered to trade him for a wooden wedge door stopper lol.
