Like I always say, "its not funny if you have to explain it". Usually this involves myself, flopping a joke and having to explain it. But it rings true in both instances.

Just like "Always timeing your workouts", you must also always cater your jokes to your audience. If it takes any sort of thought/connecting of dots, it is a very small audience that will understand it.

Like car jokes...99% of them would be over my head....
