I've been meaning to build one so I ordered some parts. Have a lower, upper, MOE furniture, and parts on the way. Still undecided on barrel though. Probably 16 for now. Ordered more mags for my M&P15-22 due to the likely "ban".

I'm sure many of you have seen how outrageous prices have gotten for anything and everything gun related. Yesterday I saw a stripped Spikes lower sell for $540! WTF. I bought a fully built Spikes lower for $225 last years, and now a stripped is selling for $540. Completed and "plain" rifles are selling for $2500+. I wonder how much I could get for mine? ;) It's madness out there my friends.

It's totally insane. They refuse to use reason and have completely convinced themselves that reducing the round count will help. It's frustrating and funny in a scary way how little sense any of these proposed "gun control" laws make.

Can't say I'm surprised- nor should any of you (generally speaking) be
"We" voted for them. Well, not me, or you...but "we":(
Fundamental change wasn't just a campaign slogan ya know. Get ready for more.... all in the name of "safety" and "preserving peace"...its for your own good and safety people- whether you like it or not. Yay.

Emailed the senators and got some bullshit response back. Emailed them back and asked so what laws are you going to pass for the criminals since these are for us law abiding citizens and I hope you liked your time in office.

My Response to Congressman Perlmutter

"I recently received a response from your office stating that you "valued" our 2nd amendment. If this is true then why are you backing bill that infringes upon these rights? I am a war vet and I have no affiliation to any party. I believe that the parties hold their own agendas and not the agenda of the people. What happened to the oath that you and your fellow congressman took? Where you lying when where under oath? You swore to protect the Constitution, not to pick and choose what you all please. Has the government forgot who they work for? I voted for you thinking you where the best choice for us concerned Americans, Not democrats or republicans, but Americans who fear that our country will never be great again. If all this energy toward gun control was focused of other more important issues, as in the budget crisis, the issue would have been settled by now. In all these proposals for gun control, not one is focused toward criminals. Do any body really reads these bills? Less then 2% of all the failed back grounds last year where even prosecuted! So why institute more laws when the ones that could be effective, if not ignored? It is a waste of tax dollars to pass more laws that will be ignored overtime. There are millions of high cap mags here in Colorado already. Your bans will only hurt our already fragile economy, send more jobs and small businesses out of this fine state. So to say you have our interest in heart is a lie sir. Be the congressman our fore fathers intended, be the voice that protects the Constitution, Be the voice or reason, Be the one who puts his personal beliefs aside. BE AN AMERICAN!"

oh it gets better....

There was a CO Senate bill introduced, 196, that is about the craziest thing I've ever read through. It is an Assault Weapons Responsibility Act essentially.
My favorite piece of "OMG, they are F$#!^ legit crazy" from the bill is:

2) A PERSON WHO SELLS OR TRANSFERS AN ASSAULT WEAPON IS DEEMED TO BE AWARE:

(a) THAT ASSAULT WEAPONS ARE SOUGHT AFTER BY AND ARE USEFUL FOR CRIMINALS, MASS KILLERS, AND THOSE WITH CRIMINAL INTENT BUT ARE RARELY NECESSARY FOR LAWFUL PURPOSES; AND

(b) OF THE EXTREME LIKELIHOOD THAT AN ASSAULT WEAPON THAT IS SOLD OR TRANSFERRED WILL BE USED IN A CRIME OR WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
