BFI Clean Catch. I was looking at the 42DD CC as the CC itself is nicer on the eyes. But the BFI looks like a cleaner install.

Off topic, do you recommend anyone in Loveland or close by for a paint job?

Chemical Skin off 287 and 34. I've never been in the shop but I've seen a good handful of cars they've done and they look legit. I'm going to have them paint my CF hood for the FD when I get it.

On a VDub related note, I bought the car on the 5th, so yesterday (19th) I got my first Check Engine Light! Only 14 days into Volkswagen ownership

I was hoping the CEL would go away this morning, but nope. Went to AutoZone and they pulled it for free, "small evap leak" so it's most likely the gas cap. I removed it and re-tightened so hopefully it goes away or it might need replacing.

Figured I would update here, best place as any!

For those who don't know, ended up selling my FD a couple weeks ago, hence my recent absence. The sale was spurred on by multiple reasons, but mainly because we are having a baby this summer and I finally gave in to the reasoning that a new born baby and a highly impractical single turbo FD wasn't the best idea.

The FD sold in about 24 hours- maybe I should have asked for more money haha. Not sure if the owner will post up here, he seemed to know what he was doing pretty well.

I'll still be lurking around here and posting when I can, maybe even make it out some meets in the lowly Jetta haha. Already have some mods planned for the Jetta, I will keep this thread updated when I can.

^I was going to, but it sold within 24 hours (slightly less) of being on Craigslist. And I was honestly testing the waters with it...see what kind of interest I could get. I had no idea it would sell so fast.

Why not keep the FD and haul the kid in the Jetta? Or grab a cheap Civic off Craigslist if you needed two vehicles capable of toting the kid around.

So quick?!?!? You'll still have time to help me out in the summer gathering everything I'll need for my build? Sending the turbo to get rebuilt in a few weeks so also a re-tune perhaps?

(crosses fingers and tightly closes eyes)

Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes.............!!!!!!

Multiple reasons. It made sense to sell the FD because we are currently trying to buy a house. Of course I could have kept it, and my wife has a 4 door Focus, so transportation wasn't the issue. Didn't make sense to keep a pointless fun car when we need to buy a house.

I can only assume this means...

I mean, I've never heard of a part of anatomy being called family before, but...

And here comes Eric to make everything dirty, LOL.

VAG = Volkswagen Auto Group, encompassing everything VW owns (VW, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, SEAT, Porsche, Skoda, etc).

Great looking car! Congrats. I used to have an 06 GLI in tornado Red. Great car no real big issues. Only thing it ever went into service for was its normal maintenance and then one time the trunk wouldn't close without me trying 3 or 4 times and then across the top if the dash the defrost vent for the front windshield came loose multiple times. Miss my full leather GLI seats, some of the best seats I've ever sat in.

Loved that car, but now love my mk6 GTI.

Btw, good idea for first mod... Buy a VAG-com. Ross tech makes it. Worth every penny for data logging code clearing and cool little tweaks.

Also a couple good boards. http://Www.metrodubs.com
