I love it. It's like cheating at driving. Makes anyone look like a seasoned pro in terms of handling and tossing around corners. I drive it in the snow over my F150, because it's safer. The AWC works out all the details and I've done some really unsafe speeds in the snow with it as it tracks completely straight. Also fun to occasionally launch it (I have the TC-SST transmission).
damn. and here i was thinkin i had made a decision already. lol. have you done any mods to it performance wise yet?

I haven't, and probably wont honestly. Unlike other cars i've had and modded, or even my MS3 with CAI, its quick enough stock that it can surprise me still. It's also very consistent power, probably due to the FMIC. The MS3 on the other hand... it felt like it was always in flux. Hot temps outside, elevation changes, boost limits, moon phase, etc. It could feel NA at times because the fluctuation was so drastic. I attributed it to quick heat-soak of the TMIC and hood design. I may do wheels and a mild lower after awhile, and potentially exhaust. But probably never touch the boost levels or engine.

Sound wisdom, glad to hear it's possible to enjoy a car in stock form:D
Plus with that kinda price tag, I'd be weary of messing with anything regardless.
Disclaimer: I'm not a "hater" or against modifications. There's nothing wrong with changing a car in ways that better suit your lifestyle/personality. Mod on..

yeah... the SST transmission is spendy to replace. Aside from that though, modding an Evo can quickly become a big-boys modding game, netting huge power and I really just don't want to start down that path. Besides, I also have an ATV to mod or my daily driver, which is my Ninja 650. Cheaper to fix if I blow them up.

Agreed. Coming from a scorned past-VAG owner, I've heard that the tdi is one thing that VW does right...as well as providing a comfy interior and a sharp looking exterior.
Edit: Doesn't the higher price of diesel offset the increased mileage you get?

Justin wrote:Can do on the pics. The interior is easily the nicest of any car I've owned. The price of diesel isn't much higher. The most I've payed so far is 3.80, and it's running around 3.55 right now. When I did the math it translated to about $1500/year if I'm driving 25k/year.
yeah, diesel is worth the MPG trade off. Especially if you came from a MS3 or other car that required 91/93. Really no price difference at that point.
Try driving the brz. We got a couple in as demos and got to drive them, what a joke. From what I heard from Subaru, Subaru and scion worked together to release that new 2 door that scion did that looks IDENTICAL to the brz. I can only hope it isn't as slow. Its cool that it's RWD but why build a sports car, release it as your first "sports car" an not give it ANY power? What a disappointment
