NA Miata,T belt/ Water pump-FM flywheel/clutch job.

Just wondering if anyone in here would like to offer their knowledge/services to do the t-belt/water pump, clutch flywheel job, in my 96 Miata.

I already have an estimate on how much Coyote Motors in Boulder wants for the job.

Why I'm I posting this? Back home in Tampa, there were always guys who know how to this in 5-6 hours, and who had the time (and desire) to make some $$ on the side.

Post here, or PM. The job would have to be done @ your place, or I could talk with Skip Cannon, and get it done at his dream garage, where evry tool known to mankind is available.

Curious what the quote from that shop was. I have all the parts to do the timing belt and water pump on mine when the time comes but don't really want to do that job myself.

$600-650 range. They also need to keep the car for full days.

Total including parts? If so, that seems like a really good deal. I've heard most places charge $300-400 just for labor on the timing belt/water pump job, and that doesn't include parts or also doing the flywheel and clutch too.

I'd say that's labor only, as the FM clutch kit itself is $600. I'm willing to lend a hand, but it's not a job I've tackled before. I'll be doing it on my own car next winter.

Parts (minus clutch kit) and labor. The tranny has to come down anyway, so the charge for the clutch labor is minimal.

Huzer, thanks for the offer, but I'd prefer someone who's done it before... Shoot, even Skip just recently screwed up a front crank seal, and he's done 100's of Miata t-belts!

Oh, I was simply offering to help if it was a home job type deal. Heck, they're all nuts and bolts. I've done the job on other vehicles, just not a Miata.
