I hate to do something silly like reply to the ORIGINAL post, but...back in the day when I was a competitor in the autosound competitions, we used to take our plates off about 3 miles from the car shows so even the dirtbags who could trace a plate couldn't do it because we didn't have them. It sucks that some skidmarks out ther have to ruin everything for those of us who actually work for what we have!

We used phony plates or none at all. But nothing fancy like quick release, just unscrewed them.
