I could possibly do it but that means I never do anything else including drive so I can put all my money to my car.
And I'm not only rectifying the problem I'm also stealing your defi gauges and control unit[/b]
Well, uncorrected, on Revolution's dyno, I think an 04-06 STI only puts down about an extra 60whp or so over an RX-8, again that's uncorrected.... and if I should be putting down an extra 25-30whp, and considering your car weighs less than mine, if you could just tune your car to put out an extra 80-90whp uncorrected, you should have a faster car than me. All you would need to do then would be to invest in a set of slicks/drag radials so you can get the power to the ground. Honestly, with a good tuning device, I don't see why it's not possible.
That kit comes with a T618Z turbo right? If I'm not mistaken, GReddy uses Mitsubishi turbos, that obviously they modify, so I think the name means they're using a TD06 hotside (turbine housing) and a 18G compressor housing. If I'm right, I'm assuming it should flow about 40 lb/min or somewhere around the 580cfm mark, you should have WAY more than enough overhead from the turbo to push an extra 80-90whp, I would assume you would only have to push somewhere between 8-10psi to get the job done, that is assuming you have enough fuel to get the job done. Although, you may want to look into getting an engine management system that's a little more powerful than the eManage. Since it's just been released, you may want to consider Cobb's Accessport... or at least call them and ask if they've tuned any turbo cars with it yet. IMO, flash tuning>piggyback.
LOL about the gauges... I just happened to get lucky, the Defi stuff was on the car when I bought it, which I thought was just perfect!
