Wow, I didn't think the differences were that significant. A minor front/rear facelift is all. Unless of course, the RX-8 is already ugly to ya...then of course this one would be too! The only thing I'm not fond of are the new side vents. Overall though, it's pretty much the same car, with some very much needed mechanical updates (although no more power).

Ditto for me...I photoshopped them out on my pics. (And the giant lip on the front grill).

About damn time they gave it shorter gears.... the fact that you can pass through the 1/4 mile traps in 3rd gear, to me, always indicated the gearing was too tall for a "sports car". Would be just about right for a muscle car, but hopefully the shorter gears help. I wonder if the U.S. version will get the same treatment?!?


Now... they need to quit talking, and just put in the damn 16x motor I've heard so much about. Extra displacement FTW!!

I'm curious if folks down the road will swap out 04-08 rears for 09+...curious what the Mazda price is, since some people have swapped in the FEED 4.77 gears. And, we stay in 3rd at the 1/4 because of our sky high redline, bump it down 3/4k, and we'd have to shift too! Hehe.
