I thought Techs were supposed to be smart

Over the weekend i called the Mazda Techs at Bob Penkhus to find out what the Diff. oil capacity was for my 8. Didnt wanna end up with the car on the lift and not enough oil. Swear ta god I asked the tech what the capacity was and he says "Just fill it till it over flows" Well nahh kidding really. how much is overlowing? After i bought 4 quarts to be on the safe side i only needed a lil less than 2.

well in my 626 it was the same thing fill it till it over flows. it was like 2.3

My VUE's transmission is the same way- pull off the inspection plug, add fluid still it starts coming out of the hole.

Download the service manual! Very easy to use. Diff capacity is 1.3-1.4qts.

Nope, they just change parts until the code goes away. My brother and I just fixed a carbureted F-150 that the techs at nissan had no clue how to even start on. It wouldn't idle worth a crap and it had a high rpm miss. When you put it in gear(auto trans) it practically stalled. It took about us about 5 miuntes to find the bad plug wires and vacuum leaks..... No scanner needed. Just a little troubleshooting.
