This is what is funny as hell posted on Cobb's website:
"The result is an aggressive stance that will reward you with little "squat" while under hard acceleration, eliminating any front wheel hop you might experience with the OEM suspension."
http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=3407
LOL. So, are you experiencing wheelhop or wheelspin? There would be more bouncing in the car if you were wheelhopping...
Question about traction...

'arctic_blue83' post='41170' date='Apr 17 2008, 03:15 PM']Dammit Josh... details. Post effin' details. Be specific. The following things would help:
1. Do you have the same motor mount on the new car? Yep which is why I said earlier same mods
2. Is this just occurring in 1st gear? 1st & 2nd? ect. 1st and 2nd gear.
3. What are the spring rates of the Cobb springs, and what were the rates of the stock springs. This is something you should have looked into before buying the new springs.
You just looked at cobbs site so yeah..
4. How much of a drop did you have with the Cobb's? How much travel did your stock suspension have to begin with?
Dropped a total of 1inch.
5. Something you probably wouldn't have checked... but, are you hitting the bump stops when your suspension is compressed?
Um wuh lol and no idea?
Any details would be great...

Sport Springs
Direct replacement for the factory springs, and designed to work with the factory struts, the COBB Sports Springs reduce the ride height by 1.0" Front and 1.0" Rear. The result is an aggressive stance that will reward you with little "squat" while under hard acceleration, eliminating any front wheel hop you might experience with the OEM suspension. The springs are powdercoated COBB Blue in a unique process for protection against the elements.
Precision CNC cold wound high quality Chrome Silicon steel construction. Spring rates are approximately +15% for the front and +25% for the rear over stock which, results in a sporty feel without being unnecessarily harsh or bouncy. Our final spring rates are the result of extensive real-world and road course testing.

My
... Probably does have to do with lighter Wheels and your Potenzas not being warm enough to grip when under hard acceleration. Personally I think the Potenzas suck ass anyways. Also the Cobb Springs should help your car with the stance/squat to better keep the front end down. I know that with my aggressive drop and new Nitto tires I have a huge improvement compared to stock when launching. I look forward to see an improvement when I get an engine mount.

Actually you just "everything the same"... try posting something more specific like "I'm using the same motor mount and suspension components as I was on my previous car, with the addition of springs." You know, something that's not vague. Specific.
2. Is this just occurring in 1st gear? 1st & 2nd? ect. 1st and 2nd gear.

Yes, yes I did, they don't list their rates. They just said "about 25% & 15% higher", which pisses me off. I like the actual before and after rates... I've seen companies claim rates that were not completely accurate after people actually had them tested. Cobb's springs for STI's are worthless as far as handling & suspension geometry goes, even though they claim a certain rate, I would do a little more research.
4. How much of a drop did you have with the Cobb's? How much travel did your stock suspension have to begin with?
Dropped a total of 1inch.
See, when you don't know how much suspension travel the car has to begin with, that's something you should find out before just lowering the car. There's a lot to suspension geometry.... in many cases, simple lowering springs can be very counter-productive to performance, especially is travel, shock/strut dampening ect isn't taken into consideration.
5. Something you probably wouldn't have checked... but, are you hitting the bump stops when your suspension is compressed?
Um wuh lol and no idea?
Bump stops... you know, the little rubber/poly bushings on your stock shocks/struts that prevent the car from bottoming out... when you hit them, technically your car reverberates to infinity... this is something that should be checked before lowering the car. Some people, on certain cars will cut off a progression or 2 when using lowering springs on stock shocks/struts.[/b]
