Yup. It's basically a federal offense (correct me if that's wrong) for any dealer to revert a Flash upgrade, although I beleive it's not even possible for them to do it. They can only obtain the latest and greatest version...not previous versions.

Shity. I guess its time for a EMU! [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

Some one else might be able to chirp in with a little more info...
...but I would try and find out what version of calibration you have on your PCM...if it matches up with this recall, go ahead with it.

I got the same notice even though I traded in my car.

On another note, I wish Mazda would quit making their ECU's so picky and difficult to work with. For the WRX/STI's there's actually a bunch of guys that have cracked all Subaru's ECU codes, and all you have to do is buy a $79 Tantrix cable (to go from your laptop to your ECU), and download free Enginuity software, and you can tune your stock ECU yourself. It's actually getting pretty popular, check it out- http://www.enginuity.org/Documentation/GettingStarted

Same thing with Dodge and the SRT-4 ECU. Car came out in 2003, and just now there's a company saying they can allow you to tune the stock ECU, but I don't even think it's control over everything. And the equipment they want you to buy....psshhh....

You know, someone that still owns a MS3/MS6 should seriously check into it, and maybe PM/email some of the guys over here- http://www.enginuity.org/Enginuity/EnginuityTeam

If they can crack ECU codes for just about every Subaru out there, I see no reason why the same thing isn't able to be done for Mazda's.

Granted, people have been reflashing Subaru ECU's for years now, but up until the last year or 2, it's been done with either a Cobb Accessport or ECUtek... for those of you not familiar with ECUtek, they're a company that Subaru GIVES their codes to, and sells them with a "license" that's loaded into your ECU. For their license, they charge $500-600, whereas the people that created Enginuity/OpenECU software did it for free, no license needed. Just for people who were tired of getting raped with prices for reflashing devices/licenses. Pretty cool IMO.

Hey Brandon this powerloss issue sounds like that issue I had awhile ago when I took it to the dealer ship with you, charlie and heather. I wonder if this is what was going on. Eveyone told me I was just getting use to the car.

Last time I was in the car after the downpipe install it felt pretty damn quick to me.... you'll have to take me for another ride, and we'll check to see if there's any codes that aren't throwing a CEL.
