4. Andrew let me know how you like the V1 when you get it. I've heard they are very chatty RDs. Lots of false alerts and only so-so filtering of false signals. But they have hands down the best sensitivity in the business and those directional arrows are great for situational awareness.[/b]

I've heard the same thing. I've heard the V1 referred to as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". And the arrows seem cheesy to me. Who really cares where the threat is coming from? If it's a valid threat, you're going to slow down as soon as you hear the alarm- not after you look at the V1, see the arrow, look in the direction of the arrow and confirm a threat in that direction and THEN slow down.

Well i do!! ;)

Iv heard the same thing, but im willing to take my chances. Your right though, even with my X50 i almost never look at it, i hear the distinct Ka beeps and immediately slow down. But i still want one :D . To be honest id rather it be chatty then quite when i need it most. Its not hard at all to figure out whats a false alarm and what needs to be taken seriously. Plus the V1 can manage more than one hit at the same time, so i will never loose a Ka hit to some K hit from a retail stores lazy doors.

Go buy a super cheap detector that goes off ALL THE TIME and try to pick out the real threats from the false ones. After awhile, you'll just tune it out and ignore it. I know I ignored my cheap Whistler when I had it.

My x50 will track multiple threats. I know I've seen 2 Ka threats and one K threat all at the same time on the display (or maybe it was 2 K and 1 Ka.....).

Did you guys hear that a town in Georgia (I think) is going to start charging a "gas charge" of $10 or $15 to any and every ticket they issue starting July 1st? Atlanta is considering doing the same.

Congrats, Andrew! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I'm going to stick with my Pro-78. It's a bit customized for me by the chief engineer at Whistler. Screens out laser cruise control from Toyotas, Lexuses, and Infinities, and has some other goodies that make it nice. Someday I'll invest ina $300+ RD, but not until we get our debt paid off.

Here's how I have mine installed:

This shows the original suction cup mount and the newly glued mount:

Here's just the mounts:

And this is what it looks like from the outside:

This is it from the inside:

I have it hard-wired into the moonroof power. On and off with the car. The bracket is attached with Gorilla Glue to the windshield. LOL.

Keep in mind that a RD left in the hot sun all day (like on a windshield) will deteriorate the electronics inside over time and take away from the sensitivity. Just something to think about.

Which is why I remove it when I park the car and either take the RD inside with me or leave it in the center console. Religiously. :D

This is correct, and another reason why mine never sat on the windshield when not in use, always down in the shade with a little white towel over it to block off the evil sun.

And the same will be done with the V1.
