I think he means a whole new deck. There are a few kits out there. HERE is one from corcksport.com. It is a double sized deck. Or whatever you call it. (Double Din?) This will keep the stock overall look and it will kinda look like the 09's with Nav.
I think this is something that I want to do now actually. Looks really good. To bad the dash kit is $450 bucks.

I can get a kit that is pretty much the same thing, with provisions for heater controls and clock, etc. for $199 plus shipping. I'll post a pic tomoroow as I am not on my computer tonight. But, there are options that allow you to keep the factory head unit and get killer sound quality.

Wow Gold that'd be sweet to get it for that price. I've been thinking about this a lot the past 2 days and think when I start to do Audio stuff I want to do this. I loved the location of the 09 Nav when I saw it and this is pretty much it. Glad Project posted this up or I probably woulda never found it. :)

I can do the install as well. I have been a first class certified installer since 1993. Right now the supplier is saying the kit is on back order, but when I get my laptop from HP, I'll have all my links to my other suppliers, so I should be able to find them in stock.

Holy crap...the Corksport kit is $443...if you want to retain the steering wheel controls, it adds $153, and piano black, another $30. Add another $115 if you have Bose. Potentially $741 just to have the ability to install a different head unit??

As soon as I can get a computer that functions correctly from HP, I'll post a picture of the kit.

Do you recall off memory if this will also work with steering wheel controls?

For steering wheel controls to function you need two things. A head unit that has the capability and an interface unit for your car. The kit never has anything to do with that. I'll have to see if there is a steering wheel control interface for the Mazda.
