STOLEN: My 1993 Mazda RX-7
I FINALLY got the check from my insurance company today...shortblock is on its way here, and soon the wiring harness and turbos will be too...I think the plan is to get it out of precision and do it myself. If I do this, I will have enough extra money to buy coilovers and probably some other little things. Now, who wants to lend me an engine hoist and help with the install

Thanks! I'm actually just going to have Precision do the labor after all. I talked with them, and it makes more sense. They are ok with using my parts. I would have had to pay nearly the same amount just to have them pull the motor and take it apart...$1200 vs. the $1800 I'll be paying to have them put the motor, harness, turbos, etc. back in for me. I'm hoping the car will be up and running again within a month

Woooo I'm excited! Engine block got here last week, turbos and wiring harness are on their way and should be here by the end of this week. So I'll take this stuff over to Precision next week, and with any luck it'll be done by March. I also ended up with $700 extra from the insurance company, so with that and tax return money I'll be getting rims and coilovers for it. Can't wait!

Hopefully I'll be getting MAX coilovers.

Unfortunately, since they have to be shipped from Japan, they are hard to get. I might have to wait a couple months and I don't want to do that. So if I get impatient I may buy some Stance GR+ coilovers instead, or cheap out and go with Megan.
The other day I went over to Precision and took some pictures of my car...man, I can't wait to get it back and clean it up, it looks terrible
Might cut the carpet out, it has pretty much been ruined, several cigarette burns and what looks like orange crayon melted into the floorboard...

you might be able to lift the crayon out of the carpet with a rag and an iron.

So I took some pictures of my car a while back. Here it is sitting at the shop. The damage is thankfully minor, but it still looks like it belongs in a junkyard, compared to how it was before.

Picture of the engine bay and the fuxxored wiring harness. Clutch looks like it's still ok. I'm considering getting a lightened flywheel while the motor is out.

Crayola stains (maybe?) and general dirtiness. The whole interior is this dirty. You can also see the hotwiring job. Whoever stole this thing must have known a bit about these cars, because they were able to hotwire it and somehow start it without punching the ignition. Some weird metal thing is sticking out of the transmission tunnel, too. I'm fairly sure that wasn't visible before...looks like a piece of trim is missing.

Mmm hotwired goodness.

Lots of trash in the car, this is how it was when it was found. Notice the bootleg Mexican CDs
(No offense to any latinos here)

Well, on the plus side, I finally got the turbos. I took all the parts down to Precision this morning and they're going to start working on it ASAP. They said it'll be a couple weeks max. Speaking of which, Powered by MAX coilovers should be on my doorstep when I get home today. I still have to get a headlight cover and have the rear of the car repainted, and figure out what the hell is up with the hood...but I'm pretty stoked about it finally running again.
Soon it'll be back, and better than it was before.

wow that is dirty.
If you go with a lightweight flywheel, I would get a steel one. I have one. If you want to feel what it is like you can come down to the springs and I can show you although my car is N/A.
