I cant say to much about the differences that I noticed between the two because I didnt have the SRI during the summer. I only had it installed when it was cold out side and I am sure that the engine bay would be a lot hotter during the summer time than the winter. Like I said I can hear the turbo more I think because it is right neer the wheel well. When the SRI was more in the engine bay. It wasnt a huge difference but I could notice it a little bit. As far as performance.....I think the CAI was a little better but not by much. The Cobb SRI is probably a lot better than the one I had but I can not say for sure. The main reason I went with the CAI is do to warrenty. I didnt want to be hasseled about it so I bought the CAI mazdaspeed. If there is anything else I can answer for you let me know. I hope this helped. Sweet pics by the way.[/b]

Thanks Jake. The warranty is one of the main reasons i still want the ms cai, but the price difference between the ms cai and the Cobb sri is amazing, and from what iv read the Cobb is good. Why dose the ms cai have to be so damn expensive! lol

The Mazdaspeed badge adds like 15whp.... lol. For the Speed6, the MS CAI is the exact same part number as the AEM CAI, mostly because it's actually made by AEM for MS, the only difference is price... which is why when I had my Speed6 I just saved money and bought the AEM lol.

Pretty much all OEM Tuner companies (STI, Ralliart, Nismo, TRD, Mazdaspeed ect) just have other companies make parts for them, and then up-charge the price just because they know people would rather buy a part with somewhat of a "warranty" on it.

As far as the warranty issue goes- are you concerned about voiding your warranty because of the Cobb CAI? Just having a Cobb intake will not solely void the warranty. The Cobb intake will have to have led directly to a particular failure.

Or are you worried about the warranty of the intake itself? If it's the intake warranty, first of all, I'd be surprised if Cobb didn't stand behind their products, and second, it's just an intake- it's not going to fail.
