Whats a good mazda Dealer?

Postby Legend33 » Sun May 17, 2009 9:14

I was just wondering what dealerships people have bought from and which ones are the best to buy from. I went to champion mazda in greely I think it is, but they would only take a 1000 off which is nothing. So if you guys could get back to me asap that would be great thank you.

They would only take 1000 off what? MSRP? And on what car? Is that your only criteria for judging a car dealership is how much they take off the price of the car? I'm assuming you're talking about a MS3? Not sure how readily available the new ones are, but when I bought mine, dealers were charging a big markup ON TOP of MSRP because they weren't available and were in such high demand. I fought for 3 days and was lucky to get $300 off sticker. A car like that usually gets full pop on the price. There's currently a $500 rebate, so they're giving you another $500 discount. If you're looking at a used one, it's hard to say what a good discount is, because there's no telling what they own the car for. A lot of dealers today are needing to hold their profit in the used cars because they're having to discount new cars so much that they're not making any money on them. Whatever you're doing or trying to buy, good luck, but don't expect the world. Dealers are in business to make money, and I don't think the MS3 is a hard car to sell.

true. i bought a used one and i talked them down $1000, but i had $2000 trade in and $1000 down. STH was pretty good to me. I have some complaints but for the most part they were very easy to work with and straight forward. i would go back. MS3 are very limited so i'd take what i could get within reason.

yes its a ms3. The MSRP is 23k. There is nothing wrong with a dealership selling it for 20k. If the dealer knows how to do business he would be willing to sell it for that. Its all about what the customer wants. I just want to know where some people have gone to buy their mazda and how they were treated.

Personally I was not happy, nor impressed, with Mazda of Lakewood. They are trying to get on our (CMZC's) good graces again, so you can try to see what they will do for you when you mention you are a club member. I have said in the past and continue to say that I will only go to MOL if I absolutely have to.

Gateway Mazda was pretty good in dealing. We knocked down the price of the GT 8 around 5k back in 04.

Of course we were there for ever wheelin and dealin. Got it for nearly MSRP.

I DO NOT recomend going there for service though.

actually it is hard for a dealership to sell an MS3 for 20k. These are limited production cars. only 7,000 sold in the USA every year since they came out a few years ago. plus, they depreciate EXTREMELY slow because they are so limited. Basically mazda does not look at the MS3 as a necessity like some of their other cars, but as a 'toy' (a true sportscar)...so they just like how they dont include the MS3 in dealer discounts ($2000 off MSRP or $1500 cash back type promotions) they dont or rarely ever negotiate past a certain point unless you plan on bringing in $20,000 cold hard cash.

the short and simple is...the dealer doesn't necessarily care if you buy it...sounds bad I know...but go to a dodge dealer and haggle the price of a Viper..if you walk out the door, they wont be very disappointed you didn't buy.

P.S. Sil Terhar is really good. They treat you really well and have big selection of MS3's

Alright I've been watching this thread for a couple of days just to see what people think. Cesaros you hit it right on the head.. Except for the $20,000 cold hard cash. To a dealer, it doesn't matter if your paying cash financing the car or have a bank check we all get paid the same way..
As for selling a Mazdaspeed3 for 20k, your better off looking at the used market. I'll give you an idea.. here is the Black mazda3speed SPORT I have sitting on my lot.
Option Group BASELINE
Port Installed Accessories MRC - COMPASS/AUTODIM MIRROR • • SAT - SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO
VIN No. JM1BK34L091232338 • MSRP $24,040.00 • Invoice $22,660.00 • Emission Federal
Color (Exterior/Interior) BLACK MICA /MAZDASPEED BLACK
42060 - BURT MAZDA,INC. 10301 EAST ARAPAHOE ROAD CENTENNIAL , CO 80112 (303) 360-8000

As you can see the MSRP is $24,040 and invoice is $22,660 on that car. There is currently A $500 dollar rebate available on the Mazda speed 3. On a car that is this limited I highly doubt anyone is going to loose money to sell it to you espically not 2grand.

If you would like to talk price give me a call at 720-284-5737 name is Josh. I'm the internet manager here at Burt Mazda. (figured I would through that out there considering we have a lot of newer members.)

i was just using that example cause I know a guy who bought a saab 93 for 5000 under MSRP cause he literally came in with cash in hand...this was some internet guru (bought and sold domain names..made a KILLING!) my brother went to college with.

You might want to email a request for a price quote for what you want to all the dealerships in the area, and compare what you get back.

You can either take the best offer, or go to the dealership you want, and try to negotiate them lower.

That tends to work better if what you want is more generic (ie you aren't wedded to a particular color or option).

You can take the car into any Mazda dealer for service.

Paying in cash DOES NOT get you a better deal. A dealership gets money from the buyer, or gets it from the bank. Either way, they get paid. The thing about paying cash is there's no possibility of the dealer making any money on arranging financing for you, so the only option for profit is in the car.

You have a lot to learn about the car business. Regardless, good luck on your search.
