Warning For Mazdaspeed Cai For Speed3's

Do not and I repeat DO NOT get a Mazdaspeed CAI until further notice.... There's an issue with the MAF housing causing fuel cut on cars just like mine is having right now. I'll follow up with more information tonight but wanted to let you all know.

Have you tried swapping in your stock airbox just to see if it would take care of fuel cut? If not, give that a try and tell me what happens.

I have to point out, that a few people in the Speed6 community had a similar problem... I even switched back to the stock box for a short while, but even with the stock box in place, I still hit fuel cut. Either way, try the stock box and let us know the results.

I definitely will I'll be doing a SRI in the mean time figure I can sell it if it doesn't work anyways or sell the MS CAI. Putting the stock one back in is a pain in my ass would rather just SRI it for now.

I hear the CP-E CAI MAF is in a much better position in contrast to the MS CAI.

do we know why this is causing the fuel cut? I know this doesn't apply to me, but I am curious why a CAI would
cause this.

More of that Mazda trickery at work- that's my guess. Something to do with the DISI probably.

I don't know how to describe it correctly and be 100% accurate but Rich is right for the most part its due to the positioning of the MAF Housing which is causing readings to be wrong sending the wrong amount of fuel to the engine or too little I guess. I'll know more later.

Hey Randy with the cai do you actually hear the turbo spool now? The bpv now? Sounds like a motor now? LOL

Randy you have nothing to worry about currently its only if you upgrade the downpipe and racepipe do you start having issues.

Yeah! everything sounds better. I really wasnt expecting much as far as sound (when I had my intake installed on my 6 there was little to no sound difference) so i was happy leaving the dealership! I can feel a power increase now for sure, makes the car more fun to drive!
