Well, crap.

Postby Huzer » Fri Sep 04, 2009 9:14

Grr. My neighbor down the alley has a work pickup with the big old steel lift bed type contraption. This morning, I just finish backing into the alley when CRUNCH, he backed into me (for some reason, he backs his way all the way out of the alley). Thankfully. the trunk still opens/closes, but it has a monster crease in it, as well as gouges to the bumper cover and under-bumper plastic. Tail light isn't broken, but the mounting point is bent out of shape. Grrrr...that's one not so fun way to start my four day weekend.

That sucks, sorry that happened to you. I guess that's not the best "welcome to the neighborhood", is it?

Yeah, after street parking the past 3 years, I finally get a driveway/garage, and I get smacked.

Yup, he'll pay for it. I guess he did the same thing to another neighbor a couple of months ago. An accident is an accident, but why he's backing his truck (quite quickly) down the alley is beyond me. He has more than enough space to turn the thing around.

Thanks all. And on closer inspection, the taillight housing is broken, so it'll have to be replaced as well.

My guess is the estimate will be to replace parts, so I may end up at a dealer. Trunk is creased, and from the looks of it, will just be replaced. Ditto the bumper cover is it's pretty gouged.

Geeeeeeze sorry to see that man. Atleast it sounds like the guy was being honest about the whole thing and taking responsibility. I hope you get your car back soon!
