Any books, ANY… i need it! ('88 323 GTX)
Ok, so I have run into a huge wall! I need a haynes, chilton, or a mazda shop manual for my 1988 323 gtx! No one makes them anymore! I can't find any on craigslist, ebay, or the internet at large... I have called parts stores, and mazda dealers and they don't have, and cannot order any books on this car! Does anyone have any ideal where I could get my hands on one? If someone happens to have one, I would drive anywhre to get it! Thanks for any help!

Your speedo is cable driven as far as I know. there are 3 things could be wrong.
1. bad cable
2. bad speedo
3. bad gear at the end of the cable in the tranny.
Pull the cable off the back of the speedo, pull the cable down so you can see it, and drive it around the block. if it is spining then it is the speedo, if not then it is one of the other two. The other thing that could be the problem is the cable could just be popped off the speedo.
brake light could be a number of things. I assume the bulbs are good, lol.
1. bad bulbs
2. bad fuse
3. bad brake light switch (usually attached to the brake petal)
4. bad wiring either from the fuse to the switch or the switch to the bulbs
5. bad conection at one of the harnesses.
I would first check bulbs and fuse. Than get a micrometer and start testing everything.
