Oh yeah I forgot about the Innovate LC-1 and LM-1. Both are great options but most require a laptop for monitoring or another gauge so the kit gets quite expensive but it does datalog and is very accurate if you get it with the NGK sensor.

i just got mine 2day and do u know which wire u cut.. i dont know which wire is the intake air temp sensor.. and does it realy give u the 35hp and 35ft and the 8 mpg.

Not even close to 35hp or tq...all it does is trick the ecu to thinking the IAT is colder than it really is...thus adding more fuel. I ran mine a couple different times, sometimes it felt more powerful sometimes it didn't. As far as what wire is what on an rx-8...no idea. Maybe one of the rx-8 guys can help u with that.

I can tell you this right now, if your car is running 12:1 AFR's, it is NOT adding more fuel... the exact opposite actually. I've seen plenty of Mazdaspeed cars running richer than 10:1 AFR's in stock form under full load as RPM's increase.

I think you have the idea of reading AFR's backwards. An AFR of 12:1 would mean that you have 12 air molecules for every 1 molecule of fuel, hence why it's referred to as an Air:Fuel Ratio. Since it is really just a resistor that taps into your MAF IAT wire, all it is doing is reducing voltage going back to your ECU, telling it LESS fuel is needed, hence the leaner AFR's.

Don't believe me? Get a multimeter, strip back the wire on both sides and read the voltage signal on both sides.

Since all you're doing is manipulating the MAF, the MAF has no way of moving more air... the only way(s) you're going to increase the amount of air you're flowing (G/S) is by either increasing the boost or removing breathing restrictions, neither of which can the MAF do. So, no, this "chip" does not add more fuel or air, it simply tricks your ECU into pulling/removing fuel in order to get your car to run leaner.

Typically, leaner AFR's result in hotter cylinder temps (as fuel is used to cool cylinder heads), higher temps=more energy=increased torque (horsepower is a byproduct of torque vs RPM), typically. Another FYI, 12:1 AFR under load is NOT considered rich, as a matter of fact, some might consider that a little lean. In my experience, 12:1 is just fine for the 2.3 DISI motor, and would be around where I would shoot for (I might taper to the high 11's in the upper RPMs), but most Subaru's shoot for mid-low 11's, as do a lot of the rotary guys ect.

Im just refering to what the seller told me, i must have got it twisted along the way...anyways i had it on my car for maybe two days and took it off.
Thanks for making me look like a jackass!
