I have seen many people who have stock 8's run the Stage 1 map and been very unhappy.
It is a generic map and is nothing compared to a true tune. If you want to expierence the full benifits of the AP get it tuned.
Definitly wait until you get to TX or you can purchase a tuning service from mazdamaniac and get 6 months of tuning (send your logs VIA email). Then you could have CO maps and TX maps!
EDIT! He is offering tunes for $299.00! If you would have bought your AP initially it is $99.00.

Data log w/ problem from AP OTS Stage 1 93
Here's the shortest of the 3 datalogs I have. I deleted several seconds of low RPM time. Can anybody identify anything abnormal here? When I accelerate hard, as the engine gets up to around the upper 5000 range (sometimes in the upper 4000 range too) it all of the sudden decelerates violently (like someone slammed on the brakes) even though I still have my food on the gas.
Thanks fellas
Jeff

Can you put the field names on the attachment, STFT, LTFT, MAF, Accel Pedal Position, PSI, etc?
Just glancing at it (and I am by no means any type of expert or even novice), you are running very lean at WOT and your MAF is low for FI.
If I could see the field names I might be able to tell you more. Chickenwafer would be able to help out a lot! I would PM him.

Reposted Data log
Made it shorter and it should now have the heading across the top row.

Trying to make ONE map to perform on ALL MS6 cars across the country is an insane and impossible task. This is why OEM's build in so much protection into OEM tunes...not because they want to sap power but because the USA is one giant country...HUGE changes in elevation, temperature, weather, etc, and making one single map to encompass all of those variables is almost impossible, so they make it as safe as possible. COBB does the same thing- they absolutely don't want any blown motors on an OTS map (even tho this has happened) so they make it safe...sometimes too safe. Sometimes there are problems.
This is why a custom tune is always better- suited for your unique motor and elemental conditions.
