Well I find it very hard to find time to work on this car. This is where it sits right now:

I need to fix that crooked bracket holding my radiator. I will be mounting the IC tonight. I plan on getting it all buttoned up next week!! Lots of little things to do.

Got the IC mounted. It is sturdy, but I may want to re-enforce that crossbeam.

I didn't move it as far to the driver's side as I wanted to realizing I want to have A/C at some point... I might end up moving over anyway and relocating that A/C canister because as it sits now, I can't come out of my turbo with a straight pipe for the intake. I'll need some funny jogs in the pipe in order to get it where I want.

There is a slight gap between where the radiator and intercooler meet but I can't really avoid it. One of the end tanks on the radiator is about an 8th of an inch taller than the other one.

I need to get those stains off the radiator...

Well I got all the IC piping cut and mocked up. A few of my angle are slightly off (I don't think they are bad enough to cause leaks) so I'm not sure I'll get these welded together. Here's a few pics:

Now, I'm wondering where I should get the BOV flange welded. What do you guys think? 1, 2, 3 or none of the below?

Do it as below, with the BOV on the run pipe. FWIW I would rotate the compressor housing over towards the coolant neck, have a cast tight radius elbow welded on, and in doing so lose the silly-cone elbow and achieve a nice clean look.

Alright thanks.

Yea, I don't like the look of that coupler on the turbo either. Looks cheesy. I'm trying to get this thing up and running at the moment though. I'll make it pretty later. I'll probably end up coming to a shop like yours and have all the IC piping redone/welded. I wasn't about to go through the trouble of putting it on a trailer and taking it somewhere though. I did all this piping pretty damn cheap so if I eat that cost to save the hassle of towing my car somewhere, then I'm fine with that.

I choose option 1 with the vacuum nipple on the BOV facing the UIM. Leaves some room for H2O injection later on.

So what's up? Did you get the oil cooler lines put on and get it on the road?

HA! Man... I wish... Family happened this weekend and I only got about 3 hours to work on the car. !@#*&$(*

So I realized why in the service manual it states you need to take the engine out in order to take out the stock oil cooler lines. It was a total pain to get the line out that goes to the rear of the engine bay. I ended up just hacking it up and bending the crap out of it to get it out. I then ran the new (used) lines to the right spots. However, I forgot to buy the couplers that allow me to hook the new lines up to the block.

So... the SS lines and thermostat are in place, but not connected to the engine at this point. I ordered the couplers and they should be here by Wednesday.

Other than that, the only other thing I had time to do was plan how I want to make the mounting brackets for the oil cooler cores, not actually make them. If I get out of work at a reasonable time tonight, I'll try to make the brackets and get the coolers mounted tonight.

Nothing ever goes as planned.

Yeah that hard line that goes to the oil filter pedestal is a PITA. For those couplers, if you want to get them quick you can go to Whisler Bearing down on Cascade, just North of Fillmore. Their prices are kinda ridiculous on some things (I bought a 6AN 120 degree fitting there for $35-ish, YIKES!), but at least you can get it right away. However, they are only open during the week now and close at 5pm. They used to be open on Saturdays. Also, the Pep Boys on South Academy has a decent selection of Russel fittings, but they only stock one fitting of each type, which I think is ridiculous. I also didn't find those fittings there though.

I didn't even think of that. I still have the fittings I was using because I'm going with black now, although one I haven't removed from the front cover because it's being a PITA. I didn't think to give you those too. If you can call and cancel the order I'll give you the fittings I have.

I had to split this up in two posts because I got the POS internal server error message again. I always copy and save what I type because of this crap.

No worries man. I would cancel the order, but they already shipped. Not a big deal.

so you have all the oil stuff on order and should be ready to go, just need brackets. You have the intercooler done? what about the intake? and what about ducting?

Might as well knock it all out at once.....yea it sucks, but since things are off the car, might as well.
